I've decided to go with the 970 over the r9 290, so I am deciding whether to pick the i7-4790k or the i5-4690k, i'm worried that the i5 will limit the 970 too much in comparison to the i7. So when playing a more cpu intensive game like Skyrim, there will be a big improvement.

Also could someone give some feedback on this build, just to see what to tweak- http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/s6NLjX

Even in streaming or recording there would be literally no difference between i5 and i7. h.264 encoding just works too damn well, does put like 1% load on the cpu.

As for the build, here's an updated version for about the same price:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor (£244.94 @ Aria PC)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£24.95 @ Scan.co.uk)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£95.96 @ Scan.co.uk)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (£62.88 @ Ebuyer)
Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5"...
Nothing that hasn't already been said, but, if you're worried about bottlenecks, you don't need to worry. You can save a bit of money by going with the i5 over the i7, they are both sufficiently powerful quad-core CPUs, both are capable of running even the most CPU-demanding games fluently, and neither will bottleneck the 970.

As far as your parts list, everything looks pretty good. You'll have no problem running whatever you want at maximum settings at 1080p, and you'll put up a dang good fight at even higher resolutions.

If you want to stay at no more than £980.

Alternatively just exchange the i7 for the i5 to save money.
