Should I Go With This Build?

Hello Guys,

I've Heard a lot of opinions on what protects to build with but I went with what I researched and these are the specs I am most likely going to build with unless I can have some different parts to buy. Anything I should change or add? Or am I paying to much for what i am buying? My budget is $1,600. If your wondering why I have 2 SSD's and 1 Hard-Drive is because the Samsung is for the operating system, the crucial is for my gaming, and my Seagate is for music,videos,files etc..

Unless you plan to do video editing, I would knock the 3770k to a 3570k and upgrade the GPU to a 7970 Ghz. Edition. Other than that, looks like a perfectly fuctional (if storage-heavy) gaming rig.

What Motherboard? The SaberTooth? Or MSI?

The Sabertooth, while a very nice board, is usually viewed as somewhat overpriced. Have you considered an Asrock Extreme6?

I was actually looking at the " MSI Z77A-GD65 Gaming ATX 4xDDR3 LGA 1155 Motherboard " I believe it's alot better in performance than the " ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard " because I think your just paying for the brand name and vs's the " ASRock X79 Extreme6 LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard ". I don't know I think its just alot of peoples opinions on whats better than other motherboards but I'm leaning towards the MSI Motherboard.

I tend to lean away from MSI, but that's more personal bias than anything else. However, I wasn't referring to the X79 Extreme6, but rather the Z77 Extreme6, a much more price-efficient board. Thanks again I appreciate it. I updated on what im going to be buying if you see at the top. I'm going to get the msi motherboard and the evga video card. I think this will be better.

Oh, and dont get 2 SSDs..
If im not mistaken playing games off of an SSD just improves how fast they start up. Once the process moves from you harddrive to your ram (start up time) then it will play at the same speed because its being played off of the ram.
I could be wrong, cause i dont know for sure how this works but i think that is how it works.

Hey im just going to be using one for windows load up and 1 for just games and another for storage. But thanks i didn't know that. I might change or make the SSD around 256.

Only difference i would recommend is the 7970 instead of the 670 IF you plan on overclcoking the gpu. If not, all looks pretty good!

I might not overclock because I think the items I have will run pretty good you think? I don't know im pretty know to building PC's.

With the build you're putting together, overclocking won't be needed, at least not for the moment. Yes, you can get more performance out of it, but with the possible exception of Crysis 3 you most likely wouldn't notice the difference. In the longer term, overclocking will allow your build to keep up with modern GPUs and CPUs for longer. That said, you might enjoy overclocking. A lot of people do it recreationally, although I've never quite had a taste for it.
Also: Even if you do intend to keep your OS and games on them, why two SSDs? Most people put their OS and favourite games on a single SSD.

O wow thanks i might just do that because i do own alot of video games and right now just for storage on my 120ssd i have to unistall games so it just doesnt get full. I will look into that.
