Should I have a 1:1 to FSB:DRAM

Hi

I am running a Q6600 at stock with all default motherboard settings (i.e I've just plugged in the CPU and RAM and let it go)

From CPU-Z my bus speed is 266.7 (1066.8 rated) for the Q6600 at 2.4Ghz

My default RAM settings are DRAM Freq 333.3 FSB:DRAM 4:5

No i've read that it is better to have a 1:1 FSB:RAM so in that case would that mean my DRAM Freq would drop to 266.7?

From the timings tables on my RAM (4x1GB of PC6400 RAM) The timings for 266 are 4-4-4-12 rather than 5-5-5-15 so presumably those would apply If I manually dropeed the divider?

What would provide the best settings for the system? Would the better timings justify an underclock of the RAM

Thanks

You don't really need to have it at 1:1, however, most people put it at 1:1 because they want to get a higher OC with out OCing the RAM.

You really wouldn't notice a real world difference between the two settings.
