Does increasing ram that the Intel HD 2000 can use do anything to performance? It's using 124mb. Will increasing to 256 or 512 increase the performance? I have 8gb ram in my pc and my CPU is i3 2130

Probably nothing too substantial, depending on the task, but certainly won't hurt if you can spare it from system memory?

Monitor your RAM usage, if you're not maxing out at 7+GB used in what you do, then allocating that little bit extra to the iGP isn't a bad idea. It's pretty unlikely you're maxing out 8GB system memory with an older i3, but in a couple of workloads it's theoretically possible.

Any gains will be extremely marginal.

I once had an i3 powered 2016 ASUS laptop that allowed me to do something similar. I increased the iGPU RAM to 512 MB, and it caused high quality videos to load more smoothly. Overall it was a positive improvement.

It can improve performance in tasks that require more vRAM but not necessarily more GPU power.
