Should I just upgrade my computer parts or do I need a build?

Hi! I had my build for about 2 years now. However, it seems that it is starting to fall behind when it comes to system requirements for recently released games. I would like to get an opinion on whether or not upgrade the parts of my pc or just build a new one? I am more of a software guy and would really need some help in figuring out what is the best thing to do with my current build. Here are the specs:

Processor: AMD FX-4100
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3L
Memory: 4x2 Kingston Hyper X Fury
Video Card: Palit GTX-750 Storm X OC
PSU: Zalman ZM500-GS 500W

Any comment or suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I would recommend just making a new build altogether, AMD's current FX chips can't really compete any longer with intel's stuff, I would either make a new intel build or hold off till AMD zen comes out and see what is going on there. GPU could use an upgrade to. So in general I would just make a whole new build

You might as well just replace the GPU and see how it goes. Just make sure you get something decent maybe RX-470 (or RX 480). Maybe get more RAM but it will depend on what CPU you go for if you need to replace it.
