Should I make the switch to intel?

This is my current build
CPU: Ryzen 3 1200
GPU: GTX 1060 3gb or GTX 1050 ti (Don't know which one buts 1050 ti is more budget friendly)
PSU: EVGA 430W
RAM: 1x8 gb
Case: Some 50 dollar ATX case
Motherboard: MSI b350 Tomahawk


I'm thinking about getting the i5-8400 for intel instead of AMD. It seems to have a good performance but it costs more than current cpu but overall better. Should I go with that i5-8400 and downgrade my GPU to a 1050 ti so I can upgrade later down the road? The intel processor is like 70-80 bucks more I think.

Nope, your CPU is good match with your GPU. If you really want to upgrade CPU, get Ryzen 1600 instead. I5 does not have hyper-threading and their first release of MB is Z370, very expensive, ~150 is approximate. If only for gaming, Ryzen 1200+ gtx 1060 is pretty good for the price. You can google some YouTube gaming video with that setup if you can wait, see how coffee lake I5 performs and hope cheaper MB will come out
