Should I OC FX-6300

Hi, I recently aquired this cpu with a Asus m5a97 mb. I have 8gb of RAM and a GTX 950 working with a Thermaltake TR2 500W psu. I'm planning to get a new well winded atx case, and i found out this cpu can be OCed. Does it worth it? Is it safe in my conditions? If so, what clock you recommend me to oc to?

Yes you should overclock but you'll need some better hardware. Aftermarket cooler would be a necessity. The PSU seems alright I think. And of course look up some guides on how to overclock

I wouldn't spend any money on hardware, with that motherboard any overclock will be very limited and not worth the cost.

You didn't list an aftermarket cooler so I'm assuming you're running a stock cooler. Aftermarket is kind of a must.

I'm with AJ on this one.

My friend and I built a system around this motherboard and the 6300. We overclocked to 4.6Ghz comfortably. He went with the H80 cooler from Corsair and it temps in check.

If you want to overclock further I would advise you to add a fan to those blue heat-sinks (the VRM's) they will get very hot. Especially if you choose liquid cooling.
