Should I overclock my cpu and gpu?

I've had my PC for about 4 years now and have never overclocked neither the cpu or gpu. I have an AMD FX-6300 and MSI GTX 750Ti. I'm unsure about my gpu, but i've done some research on cpu and apparently it's really good for overclocking. I'm only worried that it may shorten its life span or maybe not be as effective cause it's older now. I'm basically just interested in getting better performance out of my system.

What's the make/model of the power supply?

525W is enough, but that odd wattage leads me to believe that that is a sub-par power supply you shouldn't be trying to overclock with.
