I have a AMD FX 6300 and Radeon HD 7790 2GB DirectCU II
Should I overclock? Don't ask about cooling just tell me should I or not?
Will overclocking give me better fps in games? Is there even a good advantage?

Solution
Go to catalyst control center or MSI after burner and move the core clock speed maybe 100 Mhz up, then see if its stable. If it is you can climb upward slowly from there. Check temps and stuff. I'm not sure how high you can get the memory clock up on that card, but i'm sure you would figure it out as you slowly increment it up.

You might notice a slight increase in frames, but not a lot.

No I haven't overclocked before so instructions would be helpful...I'm wondering because I want to play Skyrim at max and theres little lags here and there and thats it and I want to see if overclocking would help...I also want to get more fps in general...even if its 1fps.

To be honest im no expert on OC's , i do know the basic and have some practice, but the most common first advice is to overclock using the multiplier only.

Do you know if you are using a UEFI bios?

i dont know the awnser but I'd advice you to try it. If your mobo supports overclocking than learn how to do it, its good to know your machine.

tired to link directly, but type "linus overclocking" in youtube and he'll tell you how
