So was thinking of getting a 1060 6gb SC I can find it for around $400
But what were they going for back when things were normal? If I go on nvidia site they have the 770ti for $449 when it pops up.

Is the 1060 really inflated? Should I just wait?

YES!

But only if it is worth paying DOUBLE what you would have paid in April of last year.

So you are in a really bad position. You wont get 1060 graphics performance unless you buy a 1060.

1060's are selling north of $430 right now on Newegg. You wanna play, you gotta pay.

Personally, I'm insulted by this price spike garbage, and I will make do until the prices drop closer to MSRP,

Or the mining craze crashes and there are hundreds of 'lightly used' 1070's being sold on ebay.

Lol, "less than a year" probably isn't much consolation for people waiting to buy GPUs today.
Also, profitability depends on crypto prices as well as network difficulty. If crypto prices surge again then profitability goes up accordingly.

honestly if you live in the US you may want to look for HP/Dell pre-built systems they aren't affected the GPU prices and it maybe cheaper to harvest the GPU and sell off the rest of the system. You did state what your coming from gpu wise however if you check ebay you can find some GTX 970's for at or under $300 which may be a better option if you need/want something now.

Well if I'm looking at a year before prices drop I may just have to bite the bullet and spend the extra cash.
Coming from a 750 of want to run pubg better on a 1080 tv.

Of course like most of us I want the best of the best when doing any upgrade but I cant justify spending 1k or more on a 1080ti. On the other hand Once I want to upgrade I cant wait 6 months or a year or more to do it when the mining thing ends if it does.
