Should I plug in case connectors before screwing in motherboard?

Hi, I'm wondering if I should plug in my case's power, reset, and LED connectors before or after I install the motherboard. Sorry for the noob question, I'm a first time builder. Thanks in advance.

That is personal preference. In some cases it is much more easy to connect those cables first

If your board has a qconnect(not needed for usb and firewire anymore, but old cases has each wire separate) or similar it helps make connections more easy

As long as everything is connected before power up, You will have no issues.

Thanks for the reply. What are q connectors exactly and what do they do? My motherboard is a Gigabyte 970A-UD3P AM3+, I'm still waiting for it to arrive so I can't really check if it has any q connectors, but is there any way to find out from the product page? http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128651&cm_re=ud3p-_-13-128-651-_-Product

That board does not seem to have any kind of qconnect(qconnect is an asus name).

Those things are like the white thing in the above image. It allows you to get all your connections into one piece so you can connect to the board more easy(all in one shot).

Your boards connector is in a interesting place so connecting first may be a good option, but it should not be bad even if you connected it after(I have connected in tighter spaces).

I do however recommend getting your memory installed first so you can see it is in all the way and most times putting the heatsink on first(more so for Intel systems because AMD's heatsink mounts easy either way. I still mount the AMD heatsink first.) is good too. Remember to use support under the memory slots as needed when installing it.
