should i plug my Logitech unifying receiver in the front or back USB ports or does it matter?

i currently have my Logitech receiver that works with my mouse and keyboard plugged into the front case USB and a friend told me it supposed to be plugged into the motherboard directly.should i switch it or is there no difference

thats my case and my motherboard is a msi z77a-g45 if that helps any

Does not matter.

I have mine plugged into the USB port on my keyboard, which is plugged into the rear USB port....
