Should I plug my PC into the wall?

So, I had a previous post asking about why my PSU destroys my breakers, and I believe the solution is that it wasn't plugged directly into the wall.

I assume that it was a power surge that destroyed my breakers, but my PC is on a surge protector and has been, along with my monitor and my small fan.

I was told by a friend that possibly plugging it into the wall could work, but I assume a surge protector is supposed to protect, y'know, surges of power.

I'm just wondering thoughts, because my PC can barely handle 2013 games on the lowest settings and I'd really like an upgrade.

Solution
You could plug it directly into the wall, but that is not recommended. A surge protector should always be used. If your breakers are being destroyed, it is NOT your surge protector or PSU doing it. The relative performance of your PC has nothing to do with a surge protector or lack thereof.
