Hi,
My previous rig was C2Q q9400 paired with an R7 250 1gb ddr5 n 4 gb of ram....., This rig was able to handle all 2017 games Decently at 720p mid/high.

A week ago i sold it for a decent price nd bought new Ryzen 5 1600, gigabyte b350 gaming 3 along with 8 gb corsair vengnc..
For display all i have is My old hd 6450 2gb.

Now the main thing is i need to uograde my gpu m ready to get an 1050ti but the thing is my moniter is vga nd i dont really want to rely on hdmi to vga adapter for too long.

On one hand i can go for cards like 750ti but at a store near me r7 250 is costing only half around 50$,

So im really looking forward to buy it n keep it for this year meanwhile i will upgrade my moniter n then an serious 256bit gpu asap .

I will be thankful if u let me know that is my idea worth, will r7 250 gonna work a lil fast as now it will get pci 3 n serious ryzen 1600 so no botrelnecking in any way...??

Solution
Your new cpu is capable of using very strong graphics cards, up to perhaps GTX1080.

I do not like interim solutions.
If you can, but the strongest graphics card your budget permits.
Use a HDMI to vga adapter if you need to. Nothing wrong with that.

If you want an interim solution, buy a GTX750ti, it is considerably stronger than a R7-250 and will have a native vga output.
I use one to run a 4k monitor using displayport and a vga monitor, both with a 60hz refresh rate.

Just get a 1050ti and an active display port adapter. There is nothing wrong with an adapter at all.
Also a r7 250 could've been bottlenecked by you previous pc but the new ryzen won't hold it back at all (still a weak gpu tho).
