[SOLVED] Should I reinstall drivers after going from 970 to 1660 Ti?

So I’ve just recently concluded that my old 970 is dead. Decided to upgrade to a 1660 Ti and I am wondering if I need to uninstall old drivers and install new ones? I’ve been keeping up to date with the game ready drivers while I’ve been using the 970, but I am not sure if it is necessary to reinstall the drivers in order to use the 1660 Ti which I plan on installing. Any help is appreciated!

Good to know, how should I go about uninstalling them? Do I uninstall them before putting in the new gpu or is it fine if I reinstall with the 1660 ti plugged in?

I usually remove the gpu then start my pc in safemode and I uninstall all the gpu drivers then i shutdown my pc and i install my mew gpu and boot my pc in normal mode and i install the drivers for the new gpu.

You have to uninstall the drivers for 970 and install new drivers for 1660

GTX960 and GTX1660ti both use the same driver

You should be fine if you simply swap cards and install the latest driver.
If you want to preserve any old settings do not do a clean install.
During the process, you will get the option.
