I'm upgrading CPU and motherboard but will remain on the same chipset (Z490). I'm debating if I should upgrade my hard drive at the same time (have WD Black SN750 to WD Black SN850) but if I don't should I do a clean install on the new board? I have always done this before in the past, but I'm usually moving further up in generation so on different chipset. This time I'm just moving to an itx case to save desk room so I don't know if it's needed or if I should anyways to avoid issues.

Thanks

Sounds good, thanks guys. I was planning on doing it anyways but just had a random thought since it was the same chipset I may not have to.

I guess this is just another reason to go with the SN850 :)
