Question Should I replace my existing CPU cooler ?

I just bought a Ryzen 9 5950X CPU and have not changed my cooler since buying my pc which initially had a Ryzen 3900X. I have seen a lot of information about the temps of the 5950X being quite high. Would it be recommended for me to change from a fan cpu cooler to a water cooler?

My current cpu cooler i believe is a Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 air cooler.
I am hesitant to use water cooling as i have never done so before and worried something could burst. (my case is a nzxt h710i if that also helps with any details!)

Any recomendations or advice is greatly apriciated!

How long does the cooler work?
You get 2 new identical fans and change them.
If you want AIO you can put front or top 360

Dark Rock Pro 4 is a very good cooler.
I'd see, how it performs with Ryzen 9 5950X first, before considering changing to water cooling.
It should be able to handle it just fine.

Nzxt h710i front panel is air restrictive though. It may need to be removed to improve air flow.

the dark rock pro 4 is a good cooler with a decent spec, and a TDP (w) 250:

you should be OK with that so long as your case is well laid out and has decent air flow, try it and see how you go

I agree with SkyNetRising here.

H710i's aesthetics come at the cost of overall thermal performance.
AIOs do best when the radiator is installed against meshed, or open paneling; the fans that come with them have greater focus on static pressure than air coolers because the radiator hinders airflow more.
Stacking a radiator with solid, or semi-solid paneling, and it may not be much better than an air cooler.

Does it actually overheat. Do you see thermal throttle in the temp monitors.

The case you have although popular due to adverting has poor airflow. Almost no case uses a solid front panel and tries to draw the air though those tiny slots on the side anymore.

Try to remove the side or front panel and see if that improves your cooling.

You should not need a AIO many of the modern air coolers do as well as 240aio. You would want to go to a 360 aio if you can't resist the idea of water cooling. I am not sure if a 360 fits in your case.
