Should I reseat my CPU?

So a little over a month ago, one of my RAM slots died. I didn't really care cause I'm using 1x8 anyway, so I switched it and now it's all good. But now I want upgrade my RAM cause I'm tired of bad PUBG performance and I want to be able to play CoD Blackout. Should I try reseating my CPU? Or is it just dead.
