I was wondering about something. I have a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS soundcard in my old system I built about 3 years ago. I have heard motherboards have increased the quality of onboard sound since I built my last system.
I am now building a new system using a DFI nF4 Ultra-Infinity Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard. It comes with the Audio Chipset AC97 Codec.
I am using the SuperFlower SF-201T3 case. My last system has 5x fans, (2x 90mm and 3x 80mm) in it and I ended up with some distortion at times in sound quality, (especially when using a mic) until I got a sound card. My new system will have 5x 80mm fans in it.
I would like to use the front Audio ports for gaming but also would like to use my speakers for movies. Now I have no clue how things work with sound cards and front audio ports to be honest. Heck I don’t even know if the sound card I got will work for that.
Is it worth taking out the old sound card and putting it into the new system or will the onboard audio work good enough?
Thanks for any and all replies guys; any input would be greatly appreciated. 😀
