I run a pretty old system that has had a few upgrades in it's time but currently is running:
P4 3.2GHz Northwood 800fsb/512 L2
2 x 512mb Crucial DDR400 PC3200
AGP8x nVidia GeForce 7600GS 256mb 128-bit
1 x 80gb Seagate 7200rpm IDE

I use mostly as multimedia system for movies and music, but I ocassionally like to play games.

Will using Windows 7 yeild better graphic quality?
Also which would run faster as per specs.
Thanks in advance

As your system is very out dated, I will recommend you to use windows XP, because it takes less resources than Windows7.As the games need graphic performance of your video card and windows7 takes them too.So you should use windows xp

Damn you guys are fast, thank a lot! Slightly off topic.. But since I'll be going with XP, would there be any benefits in using the alky project directx 10 for XP? Or best to just stick with 9. If it wasn't for the mark-up on hardware.. Then a student like me could actually upgrade to a better system lol.
