Should I sacrifice CPU performance for GPU?

I want to buy a new gaming laptop and I chose Dell G5 5587. My dilemma is whether I should choose better GPU or CPU. One variant is Intel i5-8300 CPU + GTX 1060 6gb GPU and the other is Intel i7-8750H CPU + GTX 1050Ti 4gb GPU. Which variant is the better choice?

My boring answer is: depends on the games you want to play.

Different games (engines) have different requirements to make the most of the hardware. Some games are more reliant upon the CPU while others the GPU.

Well games such as the Witcher 3, DA Inquisition, Mass Effect Andromeda, the new Assassin's Creed games and Bioshock Infinite strike me as texture heavy ones, so I suppose a better GPU is a good choice.

The i5 8300 + 1060 combo will be much better in that case.
