Should I sell my gaming PC as a whole or part by part?

Hi forum,
I've been trying to sell an old PC for awhile now but I haven't had any luck. Mostly because I really don't think the average person is willing to spend 500$+ on a computer, let alone something a console can do for just a bit cheaper. Way I see it, not only are you getting a PC capable of a great gaming performance, but you also get a new computer to boot. Anyways, I'm getting off topic with my rant. Like I said, I've been trying to sell a PC I built as a whole but no dice. Would it be better (and more profitable) for me to sell every component individually? Or should I just wait til that right person comes and sell it whole? What do you guys think? Any help would be awesome!!!

Here's a link for the PC I'm trying to sell

Solution
I think you should sell as a whole PC.

One of hardest part to sell is the motherboard. It's almost impossible to sell it alone, even worse if it's an old model, a not high-end board with special features or from an old platform like yours.

In your particular case, the FX-6300 is extremely cheap already to be resold at decent price. Also, no one trusts the seller and they may think you OC the CPU. Also FX platform is old.

Almost the same will apply to the other components, so you better try to sell as a complete PC.

I would think it would be easier, and you'd get more, selling it piece by piece.

Also have to remember it's used. PCs are like cars. They lose value as soon as you drive them off the lot. Also some of those components launched years ago. Not exactly cutting edge, which is most desirable.

I have bad news for you. Things sell whenever the price is right. The value of a second-hand PC is only as much as someone will pay for it. The previous person that mentioned $350 is probably just about right. Breaking it into parts will not substantially increase your ultimate price - since things like the OS (worth $80) is not that easy to sell.

I'd pop it on craigslist as parts. Prices firm, but might knock off 5 bucks here or there haggling to unload.
cpu - 50
mobo - 70
cooler - 20
memory - 50
ssd - 50
hdd - 35
gpu - 100
case - 25
psu - 35
optical - 10

Total: $445 (Realistic around $400 after haggling) or $400 firm for the whole rig.
