[SOLVED] Should I sell my old build? If so, what should I ask for it?

I built a mid-range gaming PC back in 2014. I was planning to build a new one, but not for a couple years yet and I'm moving before then. That said, I keep hearing about a chip shortage and GPU prices being insane plus it seems like the prices for the components hasn't dropped much in 7 years, and in the case of the GPU possibly gone up...

I don't have my finger on the pulse of this world anymore, so I'm wondering what folks here think about whether the shortage will last long into the future or not. Maybe it's a great time to sell right now? Maybe I should have sold like 6 months ago? Maybe I should hold on to what I've got if I don't want to have to pay out the nose for a new system down the line? I'd love to hear y'all's thoughts.

Tower only, no hard drives, monitor, or peripherals. Comes in original case box (Cooler Master CM690 Advanced). Was maybe gonna ask for $900CAD (~$700USD).

Crysis 3 was sort of the benchmark when I built it and it ran it well. Not max settings but really beautifully.

I doubt if anyone has "the pulse of this world" at their fingertips, given the daily news. When shortages will disappear is largely speculation.

I see asking prices for that card in used condition anywhere from 120 to nearly 300 on ebay.

It's worth what it brings. No true test other than letting bidders at it.

Quite possibly headaches when selling used stuff....shipping, buyer fraud, fees, etc. Maybe you can find a local buyer. You have to decide if you want to break it down into individual components or sell it in one piece.

Thanks. Definitely going for a local buyer and all in one piece if I can. In a few years this thing will be 10 years old and I think I'll want to start from scratch. Seems reasonable to think the market will have stabilized a bit by then...

Check ebay prices. I sold my CM 690 II Advanced for $100. Those cases are still pretty high demand, CM should not have stopped production.

The rest will be best as a combo, maybe $50-$70 for mobo-cpu-ram etc. Gpu get what you can. The rest is e-waste.
