Should I sell the gpu I just bought and get a lower one?

I have recently bought the MSI Radeon R9 290 and realised that it is very power hungry and can't run with my Corsair CX600 power supply. It often makes my pc reboot and I cannot play many without it restarting randomly. Should I just sell the 290 and get a different gpu like the 750 ti, 760 or 960. I was just wondering this because I just wasted £200 on a gpu that wont work with my pc and I can't get a new power supply for another 2 months. What should I do?

a good 600W PSU can run a single 290. I wouldn't consider a cx600 a good psu though. The CX psu's have been notoriously bad. That said, it's impossible to tell if your PSU is the problem without using a different one.

My motherboard isn't meant for overclocking I don't think. It's the Gigabyte 78lmt-usb3 motherboard.
