Should I set up my pc with the motherboard onboard graphics or with the dedicated GPU?

Hello, this may be a stupid question, but should I set up my new pc on a dedicated GPU or on the on-board graphics on the motherboard?

Also, I have a 3tb Toshiba hardrive and a Samsung 970 Evo M.2 NVMe SSD. Should I set up the pc (drivers, windows etc) with the SSD, the hard drive or both? Does it really matter?

MSI GTX 1070 GAMING X TWIN FROZR
750W EVGA 80PLUS GOLD PSU
Noctua NH-U12s se-AM4

Isn't there onboard graphics in the motherboard? This is my first custom built pc so I'm new to all this, just wanted to make sure I do it right. Thanks for the reply.

Modern onboard graphics are part of the CPU, when available. Currently, AMD doesn't include integrated graphics in their higher-end CPUs though, likely because they figure most people in that market will be using a dedicated graphics card anyway.

As for the SSD and hard drive, it might be better to only have the SSD hooked up when initially installing Windows, to prevent anything from potentially getting put on the hard drive. The storage drive can always be added after you've got Windows up and running.

buying a GPU would be the way to go
