I shut down my Gaming PC whenever I get off, so it powers on and off about 3 times a day. I've been thinking, could I put it on sleep mode during the day and shut it down at night? Or should I shut it down whenever I get off (I get off multiple times a day)

Should I do this:

Play for one hour in morning - shut down

Boot on again at noon and play for a few hours then shut off

Boot back on at evening and play for 2 hours then shut off for the night

Should I do that or this

Boot on in the morning - play for a hour
put to sleep mode/idle mode

afternoon play hour then resume sleep mode

evening play for hour then turn off completely for the night

A Windows PC should be rebooted at least once a week to reclaim "lost" memory fragments (small amounts of memory allocated to programs that are not properly returned to Windows when the program is finished, or terminates), complete installation of patches / updates, and possibly fix other minor glitches.
Other than that, I always put my PC to sleep, whether day or night, when I'm not going to be using it. There would be no harm in shutting it down nightly, but no real benefit either.

I usually put mine into sleep mode after i use it in the day because I know that I will come back to it later on. I do however turn it off each night because why not save money and plus your not using it so why should it be on?
