Briefly looked around and got confused so i'm wondering if anyone could sway me in the right direction or keep me right in this matter. Open to suggestions:??:😀

are you satisfied with this card? then stick with it
if not:
what settings in which games do you want to be able to play at which fps?
what is the budget?
what is the rest of the setup?
what is the resolution you are playing at?

I'm currently playing Rainbow Six Siege on just about maxed (with AA set to temporal) but its the fps drops that get to me I have had this setup for about a year or more now and I feel I need to change some parts because even at the time the parts weren't future proof.

Below £300 for the GPU alone.

AMD FX-8350 4GB
8GB RAM
(Not sure what else to mention)

I'm playing at 1080p

the cpu and ram are fine, what is the rest of the setup? (everything)
you can set some things one one below high and see which ones you don't notice/mind. you can also try overclocking your gpu.
and it depends on your psu what gpu you can get.

PSU: Corsair cx600m
Case: Cooler Master HAF X-M
1TB hdd
I will also reduce my setting after seeing the difference it doesn't make.

970/390 will more than double your performance which is an ideal upgrade, it will feel like a new system.

I've had the same i7-2600 for about 4 + years and have only changed out the GPU (6850, 670, 780ti) and each upgrade doubled my gaming performance.

Yes thanks were right about the 390 I'm going to go for that, but is there a specific make I should choose?

msi, sapphire, asus, gigabyte, club3d, powercolor, all good brands. just pick the cheapest one.
if you have some money left it is wise to upgrade your psu too, the cx series aren't the best.
get something like this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/46qfbv
i know, only 20w more, but the psu is a lot more reliable.
