As many of you might know, I just recently built the machine in my sig. My question is now that the 7900 is here, Should I take advantage of eVGA's step up program and upgrade to a 7900 for very little money, or should I just be happy with what I have and leave well enough alone?

What would you do in my situation? 🙁

😀 I'm thinking the same thing but I think it would just a waste of money since the 7800GT can still handle some of the most demanding games so far like FEAR and BF2. So we should wait for several months or the end of the year to upgrade and squeeze more out of your 7800GT. 😀

The point for me though is that I can take advantage of eVGA's step up program. That lets me upgrade to the latest series of video cards for only the difference in price (as long as I made my purchace within 90 days of the 7900 launch, which I have), which would only be like $50 per card for me.

So for around $100 I could get 7900GT SLI instead of the 7800's. I'm at a loss though, would the boost be worth it?

Oh, I see well in that case get it right now while you still can. Although I'm not sure of the Evga card still avialable. It's like the best seller right now, and it's already out. I can't find it anywhere. 😀 But thats a good move.

Well if I'm lucky I just end up going through eVGA and not newegg at all. But this is the confirmation I needed. Yay, another excuse to upgrade!
