Should I swap my motherboard? (Asus rampage ii extreme)

There's a Asus rampage ii extreme motherbord + intel i7 920. going for $100 off a friend but currently I have the 78lmt-usb3 with AMD Fx 6300 processor.

Is this worth buying? Or will I have to buy a new processor with it to be decent?

I would say no it's not worth it. 1st-gen Core i7 is much older than your FX-6300 and is not really an upgrade. Save your money for something new, even a new budget CPU will be much faster.

Do you think it'd be worth it if I spent another $100 on a cpu or nah? Only cus the motherboards usually 200 and its up for 100

That platform is 10 years old. The first component to usually go bad is the motherboard. I would not recommend it.
