Should I leave it on and apply thermal paste ? or should I leave it like that ?

Yes.. sticker should be removed.. before installing.. if you leave that sticker.. that may melt.. or can go if fan and cause overheating issues.. remove it... And clean your CPU and install that in your Laptop.. you will be fine.. and use very good non-electrically conducting Thermal paste..
