I was in talks with a guy for 2 290x reference cards or should I wait and try to trade for one of AMD's new Fury cards?
Definitely not for the 290X's. The reference design runs really hot and two of them will consume a ton of power. I don't even necessarily think you should try to get a fury card. It depends on your monitor and the games you play (or whatever you use your computer for). GTX 980's are still very good cards.

Will you be continuing with that resolution for the next year? Should be no reason to change anything if so.

Yeah that was my concern might see about maybe getting a R9 390x or 390 for now ill keep my 980.
