when i turn off my pc should i turn off my monitor is it better to turn off my monitor when i turn off my pc or do i turn off my pc and leave the monitor on

The only monitor used on a PC that I actively turn off is my TV, otherwise the actual "PC monitors" go right to sleep after no longer detecting signal. I am honestly not sure I know HOW to turn off my main monitor without either feeling around or looking in the manual.

most monitors will automatically go to sleep when the device connected is no longer running, but it does no harm by turning the monitor off, the only benefit is the monitor will use little to no power, but not that much less then when in sleep, maybe a watt or 2, but this all depends on how new the monitor is, id say any monitor from the last 5-8 years should act the same way, maybe even older

If you use your computer in a daily basis, just let the monitor going to sleep mode.

If you only use the computer during the weekend, you can switch it off completely.
