Question Should i update driver everytime we get one ?

Should i update driver everytime we get one? nvidia recently dropped driver that is optimized for a certain game,should i just keep that one or update everytime i see one pop up ?

Generally they say that if it's not broken, don't try to fix it.

If the new driver(s) have optimizations for the game YOU play or general optimizations for all games (direct x12 comes in mind), or specific fixes for security, stability, etc then yes.
If they have optimizations for game(s) that you don't play or add things that you don't need (streaming, etc) then certainly not.

I update 2-3 times per year for the reasons I mentioned above.

Not needed all the time.

If you have an issue, and there is a specific update that addresses that issue, then yes.

Otherwise, leave it alone.

There's also the occasional security update.

It as well has to do with the age off the cards when nvidia are putting out driver updates they are doing it more for the newer generations of cards.

I never update anything immediately (OS, drivers, etc).

I'd wait a few weeks then, when the dust has settled, I might do do it. And only if something REALLY needs new drivers / is broken
