I would look at the information regarding the firmware upgrade, is it something that fixes a problem or something you noticed you where having.
if so, back up your important data off drive (copy elsewhere) and then do the firmware update...

I saw the tool on support website western digital. But i dont know if is save and is worth it to upgrade.
