As the title says, I am wondering if I should update my bios. I am currently running at 3.40, but there have been a few updates since. Would any of these updates help anything such as OC / stability? Is it even worth it?

Here is my bios page: http://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/AB350%20Pro4/index.asp#BIOS

My system: Asrock ab350 pro4 / ryzen 5 1600 3.7ghz 1.3v / ddr4 2x8gb corsair 3000 / gtx 970 g1 gaming / 750w gold antec psu / 240gb Adata ssd

What BIOS version are you on now? Normally I'd agree with the previous poster, but the Ryzen chipset launch was a rocky one and it may be advisable to upgrade them.

If you do, read the directions carefully, you have to update to version 3.40 first, them the latest. So it would be 2 updates to the latest version.

If its working fine, then there's really no reason too, as long as there aren't any glitches associated with your BIOS revision you don't need to upgrade unless you get a new CPU or something that only works with a new BIOS revision

I've went ahead and updated to 4.70 and now I'm able to get my Ryzen 5 1600 to 3.85ghz @ 1.375V stable, 67C max package 100% usage on benchmarks. I wasn't able to go past 3.7 before without having to CMOS from OC failing. Even 3.725 caused NO BOOT. I also have ZERO boot problems now that plagued me endlessly on 3.40. Now if an OC fails, I simply power cycle and I'm right back to the bios splash screen without CMOS! :)

Also my Cinebench score is now 1272 - 1283 and around 1279 on most runs.
