Question Should i update my bios because im upgrading my cpu

im kinda new to pc stuff and planning on upgrading my cpu from i3 2100 to i5 2400
i think i know how to put the cpu thing in the socket and everything else except updating my bois
my bios version is on Dell inc, A10,3/14/2013, do i still need to update my bios or its already good?
btw i did some research and i saw 1 guy updated his bios and his motherboard didnt support the bios idk
do you guys have any tips
i have a old system i think
optiplex 390 DT

(i forgot to edit the title its suppose to be i3 2100 to i5 2400)

You might want to run the service tag for your prebuilt unit on Dell's support site and see how many BIOS versions you have pending since A10. Gradually work your way to the latest version while on the i3 before you get to the latest BIOS version, to then shut down and disconnect from the wall and display to replace the i3 with said i5.

That being said, you can update the BIOS by downloading said installer off of Dell, then Right click executable>Run as Administrator.

thank you for answering, idk if i found it but it says that optiplex 390 doesnt support win 10, im on win 10 should i go back to win 7 to upgrade my bios to A11 or should i stay on win 10. i dont know a lot on pc systems, im sorry if i ask a lot.
