Question Should I Update my BIOS? MSI GT73VR

Hello Ladz,

I was just wondering if I should update my BIOS on my MSI GT73VR Laptop.

It currently has BIOS VERSION - E17AIMS.10C - which was released on 5/5/2017.

The latest one is - E17A1IMS.325 which was released on 5/22/2018.

Is it necessary to update the BIOS or should I only do it if issues arise?

What do you guys think?

If everything is working as intended then No.
If it's not broke don't try to fix it.

A bad flash can brick it.

If the update has no relevance to your system usage, then no. With BIOS, the adage, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies.

What does the description say about the update?

All it says is -

• Note:
  If your system BIOS version is E17A1IMS.308 or older version, please must update BIOS to E17A1IMS.30A by DOS tool before you update to the latest version (E17A1IMS.313 or newer version). Please refer to the BIOS Update Guide (by DOS tool).

Still no don't update, nothing to gain and everything to loose.
