[SOLVED] Should I update my BIOS or not?

Look at what the BIOS Update actually contains, read the release notes. I don't update unless they have security updates or fixes for specific problem(s).

Also, if they improve performance or add support for more hardware is a good reason to update.

If it ain't broke, it don't need fixin.

Generally bios updates are warranted after an issue of some sort has popped up or is about to. If you have ram conflicts, if you are going to install a different cpu, something that is going to change the physical characteristics of the pc or the virtual characteristics like Windows major updates and new gpu drivers etc.

I have an Oculus RIFT S, and i do sometimes have problems with the tracking, and sometimes i felt as though the USB 3:0 points dont work properly, probably just me. but then i started researching and it was like BIOS update, and I didn't know if this was something that had to be done, or something im missing out on with not updating, my PC is used for gaming.

Not sure how others feel about it, but considering a major bios update that prohibits going backwards, I personally would update to F5 first, then F20, just to finish getting it setup, then get the F22a to bring upto current. Only reason I'd do that that way is because of that F20 change, Intel bios is normally additive, containing any and all changes successively.

You have issues. A bios update can help, but there's no guarantee.

Is it recommended to update the BIOS or not? I’m not sure if it needs an update but my motherboard is G1 Sniper B7
If your computer doesn't absolutely need the update, then don't. There are many risks with updating the BIOS and you could kill your entire computer if even a simple error occured when it happens. Try to update the BIOS sparingly.

There are basically only three times where I would update BIOS:
1- immediately after purchase if BIOS isn't current since I can easily return it as defective if something goes wrong
2- if I run into issues and BIOS notes look like the issue got fixed or at least improved
3- about 10 years later to refresh the EEPROM so I don't have to worry about EEPROM data fade bricking the board for another 10+ years (EEPROMs typically retain data for 15+ years)
