[SOLVED] Should I update only my graphics card, or look into building an entire PC??

I currently have a custom built PC, that I got as a birthday gift in 2014.
The Specs are:
Processor: AMD FX 8350 Eight Core Processor
MB: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. 970A-UD3P
Graphics: Geforce GTX 770
Ram: Ballistix 4GB (2) for a total of 8GB
Storage: 4TB Western Digital HD
Power Supply: Corsair CX750M
While this PC has served me well since early 2015...I'm now starting to experience serious lag, playing games like Madden 20 and WWE 2k20.
I was planning on just updating the graphics card to the MSI Radeon RX 580...but I'm wondering if I should just look into building another PC completely. I mainly use my pc to play Steam and Origin games, watch Netflix, and do photo editing with Lightroom and photoshop. I'm not a big fan of online gaming, so I'm not really worried about that.
Thanks everyone for their help and feedback.

That would be a decent setup. As said you can keep your storage, case and PSU as they should be fine. But this would be a decent gaming system and work much better for your editing work. Plus the CPU would not bottleneck...
I would save up and build a new system. That CPU is the biggest bottleneck for you. Even though it has "8" cores (I say it like that as its not quite 8) it was easily beaten by much older Intel quad cores and a modern 8 core CPU from AMD or Intel would smoke it in pretty much everything.

Yep, time to consider full replacement. Doesn't have to be all at once though.

GTX770 isn't amazing, but it is still a decent enough video card.

Ryzen 2600 are quite inexpensive for the performance they deliver. But Ryzen 3rd gen chips are kind of worth it.

Comes down to what you have to spend how you should get started.

You can keep the power supply around, and your storage drives.

yeah would do a new build.
Ryzen 5 2600 or if u can get a Ryzen 5 3600 on a Crosshair VI Hero (you can flash bios with usb stick) and some ballistix sport lt 3000 cl 15 or 3200 cl 16 (can be overclocked heavy). you put your GPU and the rest on it and it will be good for this moment, upgrade GPU later (depends on the money but 1660Super or 5700 could be nice).

Just curious, is there a reason that you went with Asus?? I was thinking of going with MSI.

Overall, my experience with them. And when I built systems or did repairs (as a job) I had better luck with Asus over MSI. You can pick whatever you want, thats just what a decent build would look like and go for.

For the GPU itself the Asus Strix is one of the best air cooled out there. But again if you prefer MSI feel free to swap to MSI.
