Should I upgrade anything on my computer?

Hello, just a basic question here. I currently have a system consisting of

i5 4440 3.1
GTX 970
8 GB ram
500 GB SSD HD

i was wondering if anything is worth upgrading? like the 970 for a 1080 or 1070 or even upgrading my i5 to a new i7 or maybe the i5 4970k or even upgrading to some 16GB ram.
I am looking into codww2 specs and currently play VR with the HTC Vive and while it runs most games I can tell some are set to medium graphics and it lags occasionally.

im not to concerned about a price range, but just dont want to upgrade anything that wouldnt really be worth it.

it is a prebuilt computer that I have just replaced the PSU and put in the 970, so if my best option would be to just build another computer, that is something im willing to do as well.

errm, if you are experenced with computer building then feel free to build a new computer and if you don't mind getting a even stronger gpu would be good. currently getting a new gpu would probably just create a bottleneck making it pointless but upgrading all components should stop that.

none the less you need more ram for VR

What's recommended for a new build? Something like an i7 7700? What's something worth spending the money. Will I see a difference between them?
