Should i upgrade CPU or GPU ? Please

CPU : AMD ATHLON 860K Quad Core 3.70
GPU : AMD Radeon R7 240 4GB
RAM : 8GB HyperX
Toshiba 500GB
Case : Delux
Mother Board : Gigabyte F2A58M-S1
i want to have good stream session , for more hard games like PUBG and etc
what should i upgrade ? MY CPU OR MY GPU

thats max your setup can handle if you have at least a 300w power supply


anything more powerful requires a complete new system with a decent cpu


you are not going to have a good time trying to stream anything harder to run than overwatch

For streaming you'll need a better CPU, just gaming the 1050 ti as maxalge recommended would be ok.

you can upgrade to a 1050ti, not even sure your old motherboard will handle the Uefi needing video card.

you need to do a complete upgrade to something much newer sorry to say, especially if your expecting to "stream" your gaming. you need an I7 cpu

As stated above, for BOTH streaming and intensive gaming you will need both a CPU and GPU upgrade. If you can only afford one, you need to determine which is more important: streaming performance or gaming performance.

With that said, right now is an absolute TERRIBLE time to buy a new video card even down to the GTX 1050 series. Cryptominers have hit the GPU segment hard starting at the beginning of this year and just about every AMD and Nvidia GPU is either out of stock or extremely overpriced. Same on the used market where sellers of previous generation GPUs are getting more than they paid for them originally.

Regarding what Paladin said, there is a review on NewEgg of a guy who is using a GTX 1050 with his 860K chipset build without any reported UEFI issues.

the 460 is not strong enough to use 4gb of vram

grab the 2gb

the 1050 ti is too expensive?

a 460 is not strong enough to actually use that much vram

its like buying racing tires for a van, wasted money
