Should I upgrade from 1x16gb 2400mhz to 2x8 3200mhz?

Current specs:

i7 8700k

Asus TUF Z390-PRO GAMING

1 x 16gb 2400mhz HyperX fury

corsair tx750m

asus cerberus gtx 1070 ti

If I were to choose between adding another 16gb 2400mhz HyperX fury stick and replacing the current stick with 2x8gb 2400mhz sticks - on dual channel, what should I pick? 2 sticks of overall 32gb 2400mhz or 2 of 16gb 3200mhz? And if so what is the cl's importance and how worse would 3000mhz be?

And should I even upgrade at all? I'm currently gaming but also intend to record games and edit videos, so according to my needs - Is upgrading the memory setup going to be beneficial?

Dual channel memory can certainly be beneficial, depending on the task.
BUT, is it likely to net gains proportionate to the cost? Probably not.

If you're using/exceeding 16GB, then adding a second 16GB module (match brand, speed & timings) would be a good option - best of both: Dual Channel & more RAM than you'll actually use.

If you're only using <16GB absolute max, then the second module would only benefit from dual channel,,,,and probably not proportionate to the cost
