I have been using this MSI B450M Gaming Plus motherboard for about 5 years now. I'm looking to replace it, because it's starting to act up. I am not sure if I should stay on AM4 and if I do, which board I go for, or I should go straight to AM5.
I am on a budget, so I am leaning towards AM4, since I already got 32 GB RAM DDR4 RAM sticks. I was also planning to upgrade my CPU to maybe Ryzen 7 5800x3d.

When it gets around 60C, it starts ejecting usb, and then reinject it back, over and over.
Changing to AM5 requires more than just MB but also CPU and RAM, that's whole new system and much larger investment.
5800x3d. will still be competitive for gaming at least next couple of years.
Which Ryzen do you have now ? If it's from 1st or 2nd gen with 6 cores R5 5600 or r7 5700 would be great improvement.
Any B550 MB should be fine, don't fret too much about it, just look at features you need.
What GPU and at which settings , you play at that should determine need for CPU.

Ryzen 5 3600.
