Should i upgrade from i5-6600k to i7-6700K

I was looking through mafia 3 specs, and it recommended a i7 3770, but does it really make a difference? It only has more cores right?

Specs:
gpu: gtx 1070 gigabyte g1 gaming (8 gigs or ddr5)
ram: 32 gbs of ddr4 at 2133
cpu cooler: Coassair hydro series H55 120mm liquid
Power supply: 800 watts plus bronze

it does not have more physical cores its hyperthreading i would say they're more like "virtual cores". If you have lots of money sure but i wouldnt do it. i think there wont be that much of a difference

Are you buying a new system or do you already have the i5? If you already have the 6600k I'd try it out first before spending large amounts of money. Recommended specs can often be way off base and will almost always recommend an i7. If they never recommended anything above an i5 many probably wouldn't buy i7's. An i7 doesn't have more cores, it has more threads it can process on the same 4 cores as an i5.
