Should I upgrade from windows 7?

I have a gaming rig so should I upgrade. I can get it for free off my dad so do I?

Unless you really, really like Windows 8, leave it.

Do you mean XP --> 7 OR 7 --> 8/8.1 ? If you are on xp i would definitely upgrade, but 7 to 8 is not a dealbreaker. I prefer 7

Won't really make a difference in gaming or anything else. If you like windows 8, go for it. I myself tried for 2 weeks and went back to 7.
