Should I upgrade my gtx 1060 6gb to something better? what graphics card would give me the best performance for cheap

Why do you want to upgrade ?? You want MORE performance in games, because your current GPU is under your expectations ? What's your BUDGET ? What are your other PC specs ? Are you gaming on 1080p ? Because, the SCREEN RES matters a lot, when deciding which GPU to upgrade.

Maybe you can grab the GTX 1660Ti, or the RTX 2060 GPU, if that's what you are looking for ? You need to first specify the reason for upgrade.

Sounds like you aren't dissatisfied with how it's working, and you haven't given enough information about your system for a meaningful answer to be formulated.

Sort-of like asking, "Will this transmission be better than the transmission I have in my car?" But we don't even know anything about the car you're driving.
My system specs are:
I7 8700 non k
Gtx 1060 6gb
M.2 Samsung evo 970
4tb western digital
2tb Seagate hdd
1tb toshiba hdd
32 Vv ddr4 memory corsair vengeance
Benq 27 inch 1920x1080
Hp 20 inch 1600x900
Asus rog strix b360-h motherboard

You can go to a GTX 1660 6GB, for an "on the cheap" upgrade.

Will you notice a performance difference?
If you obsessively monitor frame rates during use, you'll see 10%+ higher with the 1660.
If you just play your game, you probably won't notice $239.00 worth of difference.

If you move up into the RTX series, you will see differences, but will they be worth spending another $400.00 - $500.00 to get them?

If you are not dissatisfied with the performance right now, shove some money back over time, and wait until doing this "on the cheap" isn't a requirement.
