Should I upgrade my Benq Xl2420T?

I have a two monitor setup, a Benq Xl2420T and an old Samsung. Both are 24". I only use the Samsung as a second monitor for unimportant tasks like looking and the output from my compiler etc.

Now my secondary monitor died and I am not sure what I should do. I could buy a really good monitor and degrade the Benq Xl2420T to a secondary monitor or I could just buy a really cheap one to replace the broken one.

Is it even worth to upgrade the Benq Xl2420T? Are the newer monitors much better? If not, what cheap monitor would you recommend as a secondary monitor?

why not just buy a good solid monitor ?? then do how ever you want set them side by side and decide what one gets to play 2ed ? or if the benq dies you still have a good solid monitor ???

I don't get it , if I need to buy its going to be something I will use as first choice regardless if it ends up as 2ed ??? i'll spend my money on something of quality and that I can depend on .
