Current specs:

Solution
I can definitely agree with upgrading GPU before upgrading CPU, but the situation with Cyberpunk 2077 is kind of special as right now it's really just a hot mess. CDPR is releasing fixes at a fairly fast tempo and it doesn't work well, if at all, on consoles. Even with the fixes...and hacks...it's performance on different CPU's scales radically bad and even looks illogical. I think there's a lot of work for them yet to do so I'd really wait to see how the game itself settles down before committing money to any upgrades.

Hello!
I don't think you have to upgrade your CPU for Cyberpunk 2077. The recommended for ultra settings is an i7-4790 or a Ryzen 3 3200G. I think with the extra cores and threads you have you shouldn't experience any issues.

40 something, UK north

With a 1060gt..
I recently upgraded from an FX8350 to a Ryzen 5 3600.
this ryzen is 3 times faster in cinebench, 2-3 times faster in very many games.
Within 2077 there was a 1fps increase. (1.05)

no, don't upgrade your cpu, pour the money into your graphics.
Worry about the bottleneck after.
My GPU performance increased by 13% due to the FX not being powerful enough... 1fps.
26fps at 1080p ultra

Im not sad about that, i still love the game.
I've just never known, such madness and i'm very familiar with the evolution of the (IBM Compatible) PC from the 8088 onwards.
