Hi all

Recently upgraded my graphics card to the following making my current spec:

Geforce GTX 770
Intel Core i7-3770 3.4GHZ
8GB Ram

Really impressed with the graphics card but having bought the pc as a bog standard pc with that CPU probably being the cheapest of that version I feel that may be letting me down.

Is it worth going for a proper gaming CPU for example like the following:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Unlocked-Unleashed-Hyper-Threading-Technology/dp/B00EONU086/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1399835581&sr=8-9&keywords=intel+cpu

Any help would be great, cheers all

Solution
1. An i7 makes little difference for gaming
2. A different i7 doesn't change that
3. If you want to go to the i7-4820K, that requires a different motherboard. Different sockets.

I really hope your joking you have an Ivy Bridge I7 that is an amazing CPU and you wouldn't see much difference in an extreme version. I have a core I5 4670k and that is all I feel that you could need for a single graphics card.

No way that i7 is letting you down(even though it's not a Hasswell).
Your setup is pretty good, and you should never have any bottlenecking issues.
So,no you should NOT waste money on a new cpu.

Just my 0.02.

Thanks guys, was just wondering. My systems running Day-Z pretty terrible at the minute so was just wondering after hearing its pretty cpu dependent whether it not being a gaming cpu it may be letting the system down.

There is no such thing as a 'gaming CPU'. Yours is fine.
