Should I upgrade my cpu or gpu?

I currently have the amd 6300 and 950 ftw edition. I have the option to upgrade to a 1060 or a i5 4690k which is better? (I know I have to also upgrade my motherboard if the cpu is a better choice)

A GPU upgrade will undoubtedly bring better gaming performance, but it'll likely be unable to reach its full potential on account of your CPU.

I suggest you do the GPU first and then the CPU and motherboard. If you're on a budget then the i3-6100 is a good choice.
